- 250 gr rice
- 200 gr chicken
- 1 carrot
- 4 or 5 shallots (or half onion)
- 2 or 3 cloves of garlic
- 1 tomato
- 1 red chilli
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp chilli or cayenne powder
- 2 eggs
- kecap ikan (fish sauce), or kecap isan (salty soy sauce)
Fry the rice in a pan with a little oil. Add a pinch of salt and 3 glasses of hot water. Stir it and let it cook on low-medium heat for about 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, slice half the garlic and shallots, and fry them until they are golden.
Beat the eggs, make an omelette and cut it into strips.
Chop carrot, pepper, onion and garlic, and fry them in a pan with a little oil on medium-high heat for two minutes. Then, add a pinch of salt and chopped tomato.
Dice the chicken, add it to the pan and fry them two more minutes. Add some sauce, turmeric and chilli powder.
Stir it and add the rice. Fry it for a few minutes.
Add omelette strips, and golden garlic and onion. Mix and serve.
