Serves 4

  • 400 gr chicken – (2 chicken breasts)
  • 1 lemon or lime (2 tbsp juice)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • oil

For the sauce:

  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 5 or 6 shallots (half onion)
  • 1 cm fresh ginger
  • 2 tbsp butter (50 gr)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (tamari)
  • 4 tbsp sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)


1 rallar ajo

Grate the clove of garlic.

2 aliñar pollo

Chop the chicken in small pieces (8-12) and marinate it with lemon juice, grated garlic, pepper and a pinch of salt, for 30 minutes.

3 derretir mantequilla 4 rehogar ajo y cebolla 5 rehogado 6 reservar

Chop shallots, garlic cloves and fresh ginger, and brown it in a pan with melted butter for 2 or 3 minutes.

7 rehogar pollo 8 rehogado

Remove it from the pan and fry the chicken in the butter, until it starts to get brown.

9 añadir salsa 10 añadir ajo y cebolla

Then, add soy sauces and the sauteed (shallots, garlic and ginger).

11 mezclar

Let it cook for 2 minutes and serve it with plain rice.
