- 220 gr broken yellow lentils
- 1 onion
- 3 or 4 garlic cloves
- 2 tsp cumin
- a pinch of ground cayenne (optional)
- 2 tsp turmeric
- 2 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 50 gr butter
Chop garlic and onion, and fry them in a pan with a little oil on medium heat.
When the vegetables are golden, add spicies. Mix it and add the lentils.
Stir it and pour 1 liter of water. When it is boiling, cover it and reduce the heat.
Let the lentils cook on medium-low heat until they are soften (1h).
Then, add salt and butter, and smash them with a wooden spoon until they are a purée.
Serve with roti and yogurt.
