To 8 parcels:
- 250 gr sticky rice
- 4 small ripe bananas (or 2 medium)
- 200 ml coconut milk
- 125 gr sugar
- a pinch of salt
- ½ tbsp oil
- banana leaves cut into 8 sheets of 25×15 or 30×20 cm
The night before, place the rice to soak (the water must exceed the rice more than 5 cm).
Drain the rice and place it in a pan on medium-low heat.
Add coconut milk, salt and sugar. Let it cook until the coconut has evaporated and the rice is thick and sticky but not completely cooked (around 15 to 20 minutes). Stir it frecuently.
Add oil, mix it and let it cool for 10 minutes.
Heat water in a pot. Remove it from the heat. Dip the banana leaves in the water until they are soft (around 2 minutes).
Cut bananas along (if medium bananas, cut them in half too).
Pongo una cucharada de arroz en el centro de cada hoja y coloco encima un trozo de plátano.
Shape them parcels, folding all sides of the leaf. Tie them.
Steam them for 30 minutes on medium-high heat.
