maki sushi ingr maki sushii

6 rolls:

  • 500 sticky rice
  • 500 ml water
  • 6 nori sheets
  • 4 tbsp vinegar sushi (or 4 tbsp rice vinegar, 2 tsp sugar and 1 tsp salt)
  • 12 prawns
  • 4 surimi sticks
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 cucumber
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 slices cooked ham
  • soy sauce
  • ginger
  • wasabi

1 arroz a remojo

The night before, place the rice to soak (the water must exceed the rice more than 5 cm).

2 escurrir

Wash rice changing the water several times until it is transparent.

Place rice and water in a pot on medium-high heat and cover it. When the water starts to boil, reduce heat and let it cook until the water has evaporated and the rice is cooked. Then remove the pot from the heat and let it rest for 10 minutes covered with a cloth.

Put rice into a bowl and add sushi vinegar (or rice vinegar, sugar and salt). Stir it.

Cook the prawns and peel them; make an omelet; cut carrot, cucumber, omelette, prawns and surimi into thin strips.

Spread the nori sheets on a mat to make sushi. Put on it a layer of rice, strips of carrot, cucumber, omelette, prawns, surimi…

7 envolver 8 envolver 9 envolver 10 envuelto

Make rolls with the mat. They must be firm and compact.

11 film transpartente 12 hacer todos

Wrap the rolls with cling film and let them cool in the fridge.

Cut the rolls moistening previously the knife with vinegar rice and serve them with soy sauce, ginger, wasabi…
